Obituary for Derrick Wadell Milton

Derrick Wadell Milton gained his wings unexpectedly June 27, 2022 at the age of 51.
Derrick was born on October 13, 1970 in Batesville Mississippi. At the age of 10, Derrick moved
with his family to Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Richard T. Crane Technical High School in
Chicago and had studied at Malcom X College, also in Chicago.
Derrick met Lili at church in Baraboo Wisconsin. Derrick and Lili were married on March 23,
2022 on the beach of the Pacific Ocean in Coranado, California. They made their home in
Waunakee Wisconsin.
Derrick and Lili met later in life, but wasted no time making up for it. They loved to fish, chase
storms, watch movies, play pool, bowl, and travel. They especially loved traveling out west,
driving in the mountains. They worked together helping those experiencing homelessness. He
loved and adored his two children, Zariah, 9 and Geonte, 15.
Derrick was an avid grill master. He loved to grill ribs and chicken, host a fish fry and invite
everyone over. He also loved music. He always had music playing. Even teaching Lili to rap.
Derrick was known for his fierce loyalty to his friends and family. He had the heart of a lion. He
loved endlessly his large family in Chicago, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Carolina. Derrick
was especially loyal to his brothers from Rockwell, the Zodiacs (ZPM).
Derrick loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his furbaby, Onyx, his pride and joy
dog, whom he received as a birthday gift in 2021. Derrick loved studying the stars, watching
meteor showers, eclipses, phases of the moon. He always wanted to travel in space.
