Obituary for Dollie Lee Johnson

On Tuesday morning July 19, 2022, Dollie Lee Etheridge Johnson went home to be with our Lord. She was born on September 10, 1957, in South Fulton, Tennessee to Mary Lou (Etheridge) McCullum and Holmes Henry Mitchell. She received her primary education in Tennessee as a young child. She later came to Beloit, Wisconsin with her mother where she finished her education and lived for 50 years.
In 1986, she married Willis Albert Johnson who predeceased her in 2004. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Dollie loved the Lord. She found him at an early age when she received the Holy Spirit while attending church with Aunt Laura Bell. She later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Rockford, Illinois.
Dollie was a member of Rebecca Chapter No 4 Order of the Eastern Star, where she presided as Worthy Matron from 2008-2010. In 2007, she was instrumental in the creation of the Rebecca Chapter No 4’s Annual Red Ball, one of the Chapters largest fund-raisers. Also, she was a member of the Madison/ Beloit Assembly No 70 Order of the Golden Circle.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her two daughters; Brittany Johnson and Ursula Etheridge-Young, four stepdaughters; Gernetha Bell Johnson, Vicky Bell Johnson, Loretta Bell, and Jean (Bell) Clark. Two sons; Alexander Johnson and Jason (Gail) Davis, three stepsons; Christopher Bell Johnson, Michael Bell, and Anthony Bell; Five grandchildren, Marlee Young, Miles Young, Desmond Pennie, Carter Pennie and Jessie Jass, two nieces’; Mary Wade and Tiffany Wade, two nephews; Robert Gritzmaker and James Gritzmaker; four great nieces’; Amiaya Howard, Zahara Lowery, Jocelyn Gritzmaker, and Makyla Schultz; four great-nephews: Liam Wade, Gabriel Gritz-maker, David Gritzmaker, and Valic Gritzmaker and followed by 23 grandchildren, cousins, and other family members.
